From Young to Old, Everyone Needs Good Dental Care

Prevention is the key to the overall quality of oral health for our Bristol patients.

With so much being written and discussed about the benefits of cosmetic dental procedures; perhaps it is not surprising that the more run of the mill dental work is easily forgotten. This is not, of course, to say that cosmetic dentistry has no value. It most definitely does and not only aids in the restoration of teeth but offers the patient a new lease of life in many cases; something which should not be underestimated.

As a family dentist based in Bristol, we know the importance of looking after patients from a very young age right through to their later years. At Beau Monde Dental Care, we ensure that all of our patients receive the top quality care and advice that is needed.

Dental Appointments

We know that very few people enjoy receiving the letter that tells them that a check up is due, but this is really a fundamental part of dental care. Ensuring that you are seen on a regular basis by a professionally trained dentist means that any problems that arise, such as tooth decay or gum disease, can be treated easily and quickly.

Whilst most children, with parental supervision, will attend the dentist, possibly because they are given little choice; it is in teenage years when things can start to slip. This is unfortunate as it is often during this period that problems such as crooked teeth often occur and will last through their adult life if not treated.

Naturally, we understand why people may not wish to attend, and teenagers probably have an inbuilt fear about needing dental braces. As a recognised provider of Six Month Smile adult orthodontics though, we can assure all teenagers (and adults) that wearing modern orthodontics is a wholly different experience to the old style metallic braces.

Modern braces, often referred to as ‘invisible braces’ indeed offer both comfort and discretion and work effectively to straighten the teeth without the discomfort and embarrassment of old.

Education

As well as detecting dental problems such as decay and treating it early on; our role also extends to education, another important factor in keeping teeth strong and healthy. We are happy to discuss a patient’s dietary choice and how they can improve it to the benefit of their teeth and can also help with those who find flossing a difficult practise. In fact, the simple addition of flossing to the approximately 80% who do not do it, would make a major difference to their dental health.

Additional Treatments

As we have said, general dental care should not be underestimated and visiting our Bristol dental practice regularly will keep your teeth strong and healthy. We do also offer other beneficial treatments for your teeth which are focussed more on the way that they look. The most popular of these is the tooth whitening treatment which will put the finishing touches to your smile and give you extra confidence and, quite likely, a better social life too.
